What is memory loss?
Some memory loss is a normal part of aging. Everyone forgets things. Other kinds of memory
loss might be signs of an illness. When memory loss interferes with day-to-day affairs, it
might be more than normal aging.
Symptoms include:
forgetting to eat meals.
getting lost while driving or taking a walk.
consistently losing things.
problems starting or finishing activities.
Abnormal memory loss is also associated with some important changes in behavior. People
with memory loss might become confused, angry, distrustful, sad, or aggressive.
If you think you might have memory loss, talk to your family and your doctor. Keep doing
the things you enjoy.
If you know someone with memory loss, be patient and help her/him cope with the changes.
